ONN Senior Analyst Sarah Laderman gave an interview for Radio Free Asia talking about the new report, conducted by RUSI, VERTIC, CNS, and ONN, revealing that North Korea is aiming to develop up to 35 strategic and 200 tactical nuclear weapons. The report suggests North Korea already has sufficient fissile material to achieve this goal, with an estimated current arsenal of 21-23 strategic and 51-165 tactical nuclear weapons. North Korea's focus has shifted towards tactical weapons targeting the Korean Peninsula, aiming to pressure both South Korea and the US while retaining the ability to threaten US mainland targets with strategic weapons.
